Nutiva’s CEO John Roulac presented at the Kentucky Hemp Research Foundation’s February GoOrganic! Seminar. The Seminar focused on organic markets and transitioning to organic with hemp. Roulac spoke about the impacts of agriculture on climate change and how regenerating our soils can help absorb carbon and in return reducing our planet’s carbon emissions.

Agriculture is responsible for 30% of the world’s carbon emissions but this can be reduced by transitioning from highly intensive agriculture to a focus on soil regeneration. Soil regeneration means reducing tilling, using less herbicides and pesticides, and enhancing microbial generation, among other positive contributions to our soils.

Transitioning to organics can improve soil regeneration and industrial hemp is a perfect plant to rotate into an organic farm!
